With sincere compassion, we respectfully announce the transition of Ms. Annie Ruth Chaney, a native and resident of Montgomery, AL. Ms. Chaney transitioned on Friday, February 18th, 2022. She was 70. A Public Visitation will be held in the Family Visitation Suite of Jackson Professional Funeral Services on Friday, February 25th, 2022, from 4-6PM; and again on Saturday, February 26th, 2022 from 11am until the Homegoing Celebration begins at 12NOON in the McComb Honorary Chapel of J.P.F.S. Minister Marcus Jones, Associate Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Ada, AL, is the officiant. In compliance with government recommendations and J.P.F.S. public safety standards, public health and safety protocols have been established, and are enforced. All individuals attending the Public Visitation & Funeral Service are required to wear a mask or face covering at all times while inside the facility.
Mrs. Annie Ruth Jones Chaney was born to the late Mr. William Jones and Mrs. Della P. Jones on November 23rd, 1951. She joined the Bazzel Springs Baptist Church in Hope Hull, AL at an early age. Later in life Mrs. Chaney moved to Prattville, AL and joined the Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Many years later she moved to Montgomery, AL.
Mrs. Chaney is preceded in death by both parents, three sisters: Annie B. Davis, Rosa Owens and Sarah Walker; two brothers: William Jones, Sr and Frank Jones.
Left to forever cherish her memories are her husband: Albert Chaney; four children: Ben (Wanda) Haigler, Teresa Heigler, Veronica (Cedric) Haigler, all of Montgomery, AL and Fitzgerald (Kawanda) Chaney of Denver, Colorado; two sisters: Earnestine (Tommy) Vickers of Hope Hull, AL and Gertrude Bibb of Montgomery, AL; twelve grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Baptist South Hospital and Montgomery Health and Rehab.
