Atlee Osborne Obituary

With sincere compassion, we respectfully announce the transition of Ms. Atlee Jones Osborne.  A native and resident of Montgomery, AL, Mrs. Osborne transitioned on Tuesday, October28th, 2021; she was 83. A public visitation will be held from 4-6PM on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021, and also on Thursday, November 4th, 2021 at 9AM, from the McComb Honorary Chapel of Jackson Professional Funeral Services.  A Graveside Homegoing Celebration will be held at 11AM on Thursday, November 4th, 2021, at United Faith Christian Church Cemetery, Montgomery, AL. Committal and interment will follow.  Pastor Luverne Fleetin is the officiant.  In compliance with government recommendations and J.P.F.S. public safety standards, individuals attending the public visitation are required to wear a mask or face covering at all times while inside the facility. 

Mrs. Atlee Jones Osborne was born January 28, 1938, to the late Ms. Ida Mae Jones and Mr. Eugene McQueen.  On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, she departed this life and went to live with her Heavenly Father. 

Atlee confessed Christ at an early age.  She joined New Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she served as Mother of the Church and an Usher until her health began to fail.  She was the Matriarch of her family and Madea to many in the neighborhood.  Her doors were always open for anyone who needed her, whether it was just to talk, get a bite to eat, or find a place to sleep. 

Atlee is preceded in death by one sister, Daisy Osborne; three sons: Arthur Lee Osborne, Jr., Eugene (Jimmy) Osborne, and Raymond Osborne; grandson, Arterrius Osborne; great- granddaughter, Charnavia Hinkle, and daughter-in-law, Margaret Ann Burton.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted children: Willie Joe Osborne, Ada Fleetin, Lula (Kalvin) Lowery, Gwendolyn Davis, Jacqueline (Lee Adams) Oliver, Cynthia (Robert) Williams, Barbara Osborne, all of Montgomery, AL;  Kalvin (Pamela) Osborne of Birmingham, AL, and Mary Osborne of Montgomery, AL; a sister: Bessie Mae Jones of Montgomery, AL; adopted sisters: Ida Mae Dixon of Chicago, IL, Ethel Pickett, Wilma McKinney, Janie Osborne, and Katie Davenport of Montgomery, AL; adopted brother: Eugene Lowery;  daughters-in law: Chinchio Chancello Osborne and Lougenia Osborne; 43 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; devoted friends:  Jeannie Ephriam, Eva Baxter, Earl Jarrett, and James Gooden; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
