With sincere humility, compassion, and empathy we announce the passing of Mrs. Barbara A. Franklin, who peacefully transitioned on July 11th, 2020.
Mrs. Barbara A. Walker Franklin, a resident of Montgomery, AL; was born to Mr. Willie Ester Walker and Mrs. Clessie Burleson Walker on June 23rd, 1946 in Panama City, Florida. She was raised in Hamilton, AL and in 1986 met, fell in love with, and married Mr. George Franklin. They shared this life of love with two beautiful daughters. Barbara worked as an Administrative Secretary for the State of Alabama until her retirement. She was an active member of the Crump Senior Center of Montgomery, AL and was passionately committed to her duties there.
Mrs. Franklin leaves to cherish and forever adore her memories; a loving husband for more than two decades: C.S.M. U.S. Air Force (Retired) Mr. George Franklin of Montgomery, AL; a devoted daughter and son-in-law: Mrs. Rita and Mr. John Pool of Wetumpka, AL; three grandchildren: Ms. Chelsea Pool of Wetumpka, AL; Mr. Ben Hepburn of Birmingham, AL; and Mr. Landon Thompson of Montgomery, AL; two brothers: Mr. Glee Walker of Hamilton, AL and Mr. Tony Walker of Montgomery, AL.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Michelle Teeter.
A memorial service and interment will be held in Hamilton, AL on Saturday, July 18th, 2020.
