With sincere compassion, and empathy we respectfully announce the transition of Mrs, Bertha Mae "Beauty" Berry, a resident and native of Montgomery, AL. Mrs. Berry peacefully transitioned on Friday, November 20th, 2020 with her daughter by her side. She was 68 years young. Public Visitation will be held on Friday, November 27th, 2020 from 3-6 PM in the McComb Honorary Chapel of Jackson Professional Funeral Services. In compliance with government recommendations, individuals attending the visitation are required to wear a mask or face covering at all times while inside the facility. Temperature checks are also required upon entering the funeral home. Mrs. Bertha will be laid to rest following a Graveside Service at Brassell Historic Cemetery on Charlie Brassell Drive in Montgomery, AL; to be held at Noon on Saturday, November 28th, 2020.
Bertha Berry departed this life on Friday, November 20, 2020. Bertha was born on December 3rd, 1951 to the late Harrison Johnson and Hattie Hamilton. Bertha married the love of her life, Mr. Anderson Berry; he preceded her in death. Bertha dedicated her life in Baptism as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 5, 1997. Her relationship as a servant of Jehovah was very important to her.
Bertha adored her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She would often plan and prepare home cooked meals to share with her family members and friends. Bertha was a loving mother, nannah, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, spiritual sister, and friend.
Those left to lovingly cherish Bertha’s memory and celebrate her life and transition include her daughter: Gail (Darius) Berry; granddaughter, Mae Lisa Berry; her five sisters: Ruby Nell Murphy, Gladys (Al) Singleton, Mary Johnson, Angela Johnson, Clementine Johnson; five brothers: Mark (Linda) Hamilton, Arthur (Orastein) Johnson, George (Augusta) Johnson, Clement (Jeanette) Johnson, William (Penny) Johnson. She also leaves a host of other devoted family members: a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends along with her spiritual Sisters and Brothers. She was preceded in death by her sister: Bernice Thompson and brothers: Clarence Johnson and Harrison Johnson, Jr.
