Caleb Anthony Wheeler was born on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, in Montgomery, Alabama, to Jalana Wheeler and Anthony Jackson. It didn’t take any time for Caleb to become the apple of his mother’s eye and the joy of her heart. In December 2018, Caleb was diagnosed with renal medullary carcinoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that affects the kidneys. Even though his first diagnosis and prognosis were bleak, Caleb was tenacious and beat the odds initially given to him. His bright eyes and expressive smile were infectious. It is easy to see why he was his mother’s world…her everything. His personality traits were indicative of his name’s meaning, as he was brave but at the same time sweet. He was also outspoken and whole-hearted. Caleb displayed unreserved enthusiasm as an avid video game lover and player who really enjoyed spending time on the computer. Caleb adored his family dog, Oscar, and having fun laughing with friends and family.
Caleb was a 7th grade student who attended Capital Heights Middle School in Montgomery, Alabama. Recognizing the importance of an education and the need to do well, Caleb worked hard to succeed in all of his subjects. Following an extended illness, Caleb transitioned this life on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. He is survived by his: mother, Jalana Wheeler, grandmother, Cynthia Wheeler, grandfather, Bruce Blackshear, great-grandmother, Corrie Shepherd, great uncles: Darryl Wheeler and Charles Wheeler; uncles: Renaldo Wheeler, Jory Wheeler, and Trekyle Wheeler; auntie; Tia Wheeler, cousins; Raegan, Nia, Ava, Kylee, Harmoni, Amonei, Zykiara, Desiree, and Joiniya.
