With sincere compassion, we respectfully announce the transition of Mr. Clifton Watkins, a native of Lowndes County, AL, and resident of Montgomery, AL. Mr. Watkins transitioned on Thursday, June 3rd, 2021. He was 83. Complete obituary and service information will be provided once the arrangements have been finalized. Public visitation will be held on Friday, June 11th, 2021, from 4-6 PM, in the visitation parlor of Jackson Professional Funeral Services. In compliance with government recommendations, and J.P.F.S. public safety standards, individuals attending the visitation are required to wear a mask or face covering at all times while inside the facility. Temperature checks are also required upon entering the funeral home. A one hour public visitation at 11AM will precede the graveside service to begin at 12PM on Saturday, June 12th, 2021, at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery, 3001 Simmons Drive, Montgomery, AL 36108. The family requests that all family and friends wear face coverings and practice social distancing while attending the graveside service.
Mr. Clifton Watkins was born March 17th, 1938, in Hope Hull, Lowndes County, Alabama, to the late Claude and Cathren Watkins. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Jessie Brown, Mary King, and Virginia McCall; and brothers: Fletcher Watkins, Jimmie Watkins, Sr., and Willie Watkins, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a sister, Mrs. Hattie (Charles) Powe, of Pike Road, AL; a brother, Mr. Claude (Sherri) Watkins, of East Point, GA; sister-in-law, Ms. Mattie Watkins, of Montgomery, AL; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
