Demetrius A. Washington, 36, transitioned from earth into eternity on Wednesday, June, 10, 2020. Services will be held at 6 o'clock pm on Friday, June 20, 2020, in the chapel of Jackson Professional Funeral Services located at 3600 Debby Drive, Montgomery, AL 36111. In compliance with the directive issued by Mayor Reed as well as CDC guidelines, individuals attending the service are required to wear a mask or face covering throughout the time they are in the facility.
Demetrius was born on September 10, 1983, in Montgomery, AL to Barbara A. Smith and George R. Washington (deceased). At a young age, he became interested in food and culinary arts. His unique style of preparing and cooking earned him a spot as a Chef Apprentice at a 4-Star restaurant.
Demetrius is survived by his wife: LaKeisha S. Washington; two daughters: A'Shia N. and A'Kira A. Washington; mother: Barbara Smith; three sisters: Rebecca Marshall, Angela Armstrong, and Tangy Davis; one brother: Jude Washington (Lynneice); nieces and nephews: Rayneisha Scott, Chontia Williams, Jasmine Washington, Daija Armstrong, Xavier Stallworth, Raymun Scott, Joseph Williams, Alexia Williams, Jaidyn Washington, and Aysha Jackson; in-laws: Christina R. Y. Williams, Marsha F. Mitchell (Kent), Marquis Ingram, and Cedric D. A. Ingram-Lewis (Rhonda); good friend: Kelvin Shavers; childhood friends: Frank Howard, Jr. and Koaski Jackson; and a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
Demetrius is preceded in death by his stepfather, Richard Smith, and nephew, Adarius Davis.
