With sincere compassion, we respectfully announce the transition of Ms. Donna Marie Jackson, a native and resident of Montgomery, AL. Ms. Jackson transitioned on Monday, January 10th, 2021 at Ascension Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI. Donna was 60 years old. A Public Visitation will be held Friday, January 21st, 2022, from 4-6PM, and again on Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 from Noon until the Homegoing Celebration begins at 1PM in the McComb Honorary Chapel of J.P.F.S. Committal & Interment will follow at Old Augusta Baptist Church Cemetery (Wares Ferry Rd.) Montgomery, AL. In compliance with government recommendations and J.P.F.S. public safety standards, individuals attending the public visitation are required to wear a mask or face covering at all times while inside the facility.
Donna was born August 21st, 1961 in Montgomery, AL to John L. Jackson and Katie Lee Oliver. She was raised by her lovely grandmother, Annie Patterson. She professed her life to Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Gilliard Baptist Church. During her childhood years, she attended Montgomery Public Schools and was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. Her industrial life began with Kimble's Furniture Company and ended with Wind Creek Casino in Montgomery. She was gifted 4 beautiful children who blessed her with 7 beautiful grandchildren. Donna later met Jimmie L. Thomas, whom she married in 1997. They shared over a decade of love together.
Donna Leaves to cherish & forever hold her memories close to heart; three devoted children: Danyell (Louis) Jackson, Bryant Jackson, and Keshundra (Detreon) Jackson; seven grandchildren: Dayshell, Jackson, Zaykeese Jackson, KeAsiah Jackson, Dejhun Miller, Daejhun Miller, Deziyah Miller and Toriyah Jackson; her loving mother: Katie Lee Oliver; three sisters: Jackie (Malcolm) Cain, Joy (Rodney) Mcdade and Cynthia Perdue; four brothers: Jeffery Jackson, Robert (Angela) Jackson, Terry (Stephanie) Jackson and John (Stephanie) Jackson, Jr.; nieces; Glorine Haris, Laquetta Jackson, Robin Jackson, and Tasha Norris; nephews: Shiron Jackson, Jerome Jackson, Dewayne Richards, Deangelo Turner; an uncle: Roosevelt (Volnetta) Jackson; sister-in-law: Henrietta Lamar; close friends; charles Postell, Lenora Jackson, Olden Robbins and a host of other relatives and friends. Donna will be missed immensely. Her strength, spirit and legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren for many years to come.
