With sincere compassion, we respectfully announce the transition of Mr. Eddie Lee Henry, Sr. A native of Clinton, LA, and resident of Gonzales, LA, Mr. Henry transitioned, Tuesday, March 5th, 2024. He was 81. A Public Visitation will be held Friday, March 15th, 2024 from 4-7PM at New Life Christian Fellowship Church in Prairieville, LA. Saturday, March 16th, 2024, Mr. Henry will lie in state for public visitation from 10AM until the Home-Going Celebration begins at 11AM; also at New Life Christian Fellowship Church. Pastor Charles Clay is the Eulogist. Committal and Interment will follow at Holmes Family Cemetery in Galvez, LA.

Mr. Eddie Lee Henry Sr. was born December 14, 1942 in Clinton, LA to Will and Beatrice Bell Henry. Mr. Eddie lived to be 81 years old until he was called home on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 4:00 a.m., at his home in Gonzales, LA.

Brother Eddie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in 1964 by the late Bishop Roman Ealy in Galvez, LA. He joined The Church of God in Galvez LA and later moved his membership to The Shining Star Church of God under the leadership of his wife, Pastor Marie Henry.

Brother Eddie met his wife in 1964 and was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Pastor Marie Henry, on August 2, 1964. They remained married for 59 ½ years until he transitioned home. To this union six children were born. Brother Eddie also assisted in rearing many family members throughout his life. He was dedicated to his family and worked hard to support, and provide for them. His character was an example that could be replicated for years to come. While he was a jack of all trades, he spent thirty plus years at D.S.I. Transport/Tri-Mac until he retired in 2005. He believed in helping and teaching others to ensure knowledge was transferred to the younger generation.

Brother Eddie leaves to cherish his memory; his loving, faithful, and dedicated wife: Pastor Marie Henry; two sons: Eddie L. Henry, Jr. (Andrea) and LeKeith T. Henry (Mandi); four daughters: Wanda Faye Williams (David), Darlene Henry, Tansey Rothenberg (David, Jr.), and Fernita Kleeman (Steven, Sr.); six adopted/fostered children: Chantell Davis (Walter), Robert Johnson, Aretha Taplin (Lamont), Orlando Truvillion, Alando Truvillion, and Gerald Henry; sixteen grandchildren: Elijah Davis (Regina), Eddreeka Henry, Faith Williams, Jayla Franklin, Steven Kleeman, Jr, Isaiah Alexander, Jamarcus Rothenberg, Omari Kleeman, Coy Houston, LeAndre Kemp, K-Ron Weathers, Jariana Combs, Darrow Davis, Jr, Jaron Milton, and Deric Godbolt; four great-grandchildren: Daverion Davis, Raleiyah Davis, Kyren Davis, and Zamorah Henry; one godson: Johnny Ray Henry; two brothers: Jimmie Henry (Whilimina) and James Henry; four sisters: Dorothy Mayer, Shirley Henry, Josephine Talbert (John), and Iona Harrison; five brothers-in-law: James Holmes (Barbara), Joseph Lee Holmes (Brenda), Lindy Paul Holmes, Eugene Holmes, and Emanuel Jackson; four sisters-in-law: Redina Lee, Helen Marie Watson, Sharon Ivy (Daniel) and Min. Eunice Clay (Pastor Charles Clay); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Brother Eddie was proceeded in death by his parents: Will and Beatrice Bell Henry; a brother: Percy Henry; three sisters: Nancy Jackson, Oney Byrd, and Mary Lee White; two nieces: Arnette Stewart and Tonya Harris; three nephews: Gerald Henry, Orlando Truvillion, and Alando Truvillion; one grandson: Michael Josheph Henry; a son-in-law: Darrow Davis, Sr.; his father and mother-in-law: Walter and Helen Holmes, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.
