With sincere compassion, we respectfully announce the transition of Mr. Frank Harris, Jr. A native and resident of Montgomery, AL, Mr. Harris transitioned on Saturday, August 21st, 2021. He was 61. A public visitation will be held from 4-6PM Friday, August 27th, 2021, from the McComb Honorary Chapel of Jackson Professional Funeral Services. In compliance with government recommendations and J.P.F.S. public safety standards, individuals attending the public visitation are required to wear a mask or face covering at all times while inside the facility. The Homegoing Celebration will begin at 9AM on Saturday, August 28, 2021, with Reverend Angelo Pettway, Sr. delivering the eulogy. Committal and interment will follow at Kindle Cemetery.
Mr. Frank Harris, Jr. was born December 14th, 1959, in Montgomery, AL to loving parents, the late Frank Harris, Sr. and Mary Harris. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Ford, and a nephew, Dandrell Harris. Frank confessed Christ at an early age; his confession of Christ as Savior was followed by his baptism. Frank had an infectious personality. Rarely, if ever, did anyone come into Frank's presence and be unaffected by his joyous spirit, loving personality, quick wit, and jovial sense of humor. His life was characterized by these attributes to the end.
Frank leaves to celebrate his life, cherish his loving memories, and continue his legacy a devoted wife of 35 years: Janice Harris; three loving sons: Alonzo Huffman and Alvin Pettway, Sr. of McDonough Ga, and Alex (Calandra) Pettway, Sr. of Phenix City, AL; nine grandchildren: Jamalia and Ta'Niyah Huffman and Akeelah Pettway all of Montgomery, AL, Skylar Smith and Zuri Pettway of Phoenix City, AL, Alvin Jr., Journey, and Jahaxson Pettway all of McDonough, GA, and a devoted grandson, Alex Pettway, Jr. of Montgomery, AL; seven sisters: Patricia Addison, Kecia (Robert) Rogers, Farnecia Harris, Tracey (Terrol) Smith, Latonia (Kelvin) Martin, Christy Harris, and Venita (Rodney) Fletcher all of Montgomery, AL; six sisters-in-law: Vergie (Rob) Harris, Hattie Pettway, Sherrell (Chris) Walters, and Sonda Williams all of Montgomery, AL, Felicia (Darryl) Williams and Wanda Williams of Jonesboro, GA; four brothers-in-law: Rev. Angelo (Patsy) Pettway of Birmingham, AL, Michael (Emma) Washington along with two very special and devoted brothers-in-law: Tyrone Richard and Ryan Crawford of Montgomery, AL; three uncles: Willie Ware and Lee Pettway of Montgomery, AL, and Leon (Ida Mae) Ware of Birmingham, AL; two aunts: Rev. Gwendolyn Harris and Deborah Harris of Pontiac, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. A nephew-in-law, Michael Harris, along with a very special, devoted cousin, Carolyn (Isaiah) Smith, of Montgomery, AL will also miss Frank's presence while taking comfort in God's word that teaches us that "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."
