Gerald Xavier Nobles was born on Tuesday, January 12th, 1965, in Montgomery, Alabama, to Betty Jean Nobles and Burrell Griggs, Sr. He passed away on Monday, September 13th,2021. He confessed his life to Christ at an early age and joined Elizabeth Baptist Church. Gerald retired from the Montgomery County Board of Education after 28 years of service in the maintenance department. True to form for babies born on Tuesday, Gerald had a fighting spirit and was one filled with courage and enthusiasm . His mechanical inclination led him to believe that he was able to conquer, against all odds, whatever challenges life brought to him.
Gerald leaves to cherish his memories and continue his legacy a devoted daughter: Lagerica Nobles (Stockbridge, GA); his father: Burrell Griggs, Sr.; seven brothers: Terrence Nobles, Burrell Griggs, Jr., Nathan Griggs, Kenneth Griggs, Gregory Griggs, Tyrone and Jerome Newell; two sisters: Linda (Keith) Wetzel and Regina Vickers; one uncle: James (Linda) Thomas; God brother: Eric (Sheila)Taylor; God sister: Chiquita Baldwin; two devoted friends: Jaqueline Rose and Terry Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Preceding Gerald in death are his mother, Betty Jean Nobles, and sister, LaTonya Nobles. As his middle name suggests, he is now in his 'new home,' reunited with those who have gone on before him.
