Henry James Jones

With sincere compassion, we respectfully announce the transition of Mr. Henry James "The Painter" Jones, a native, and resident of Montgomery, AL, Mr. Jones transitioned Tuesday, January 17th, 2023. He was 62. Public Visitation will be held Friday, January 27th, 2023 from 4-6PM in the Chapel of Jackson Professional Funeral Services. Saturday, January 28th, 2023 at 10AM, a Public Visitation will be held at New Life C.O.G.I.C. - Annex 4. The Celebration of Life fill follow at 11AM. Committal and Interment will follow the service at Kindle Memorial Cemetery. 

Mr. Henry James Jones was born in Montgomery, Alabama on July 27, 1960, to the late Fannie and Robert James Jones. Mr. Jones attended True Grace House of Yahweh in Montgomery, Alabama, where he accepted Christ.
 
"The Painter," who Mr. Jones was also affectionately known as, was a charitable neighbor who served the community and was passionate about the work that he did. He owned and operated Jones & Jones Professional Painting for several decades; serving Montgomery and the tri-county area. Mr. Jones, also worked several years for the Craig Dillard family. He shared his skills and knowledge around their home, and they considered him family.
 
On Tuesday, January 17th, 2023, Mr. Jones was called to eternal rest. He was surrounded by his loving family. He leaves to cherish his loving memory; two sons: Henry “Mike” Tellis and DeAndre (Sharanda) Cottrell; five daughters: Diana (John) Tellis-Gordon, Angela (Mitchell) Tellis-Fields, Jeanetta Tellis, Shakita Tellis and Shanita (Terrance) Tellis; one sister: Corean Jones; three brothers: Charlie Jones, Albert Lee Jones and David Lee Jones; twenty-five loving grandchildren: Devontae Tellis, Camillia Tellis, Johnmisha Tellis, Mya Cottrell, Johnmeria Gordon, Johnathon Tellis, Te'a Tellis, Omarion Tellis, Ray Tellis, Raymond Tellis, Johmaya Tellis, Terrence Tellis, Jadamion Tellis, Jeanette Tellis, Jo'michael Tellis, Jederion Tellis, Maria Tellis, Ja'Aliyah Cottrell, Thea Tellis, Jayden Davis, Tyrese Tellis, Taniya Tellis, Tarvious Tellis, Tyler Bryant and Ta’sarah Bryant; and one great-grandchild: Kalaiya Smith. Mr. Jones' memory will be cherished, and his legacy will be continued by all who loved him. He also leaves a devoted friend, Verdell “Ms. Vee” Smith, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends. He was a loving father to many step-children, as well. Those who knew and loved him will never forget his life, his values and his good nature. His presence will be immensely missed.

Henry is preceded in death by his wife Jeanette Jones, his son Robert “Dutt” Jackson, and a brother Anthony “Kenny” Jones.
