Ms. Jacqueline Denise Canady Smith "Moochie"
With sincere compassion and empathy, we respectfully announce the transition of Ms. Jacqueline Smith.
Jacqueline "Moochie" Canady Smith, a native of Montgomery, Alabama, embarked on her final journey to join her Lord and family in eternity. Public visitation will be held on Friday, December 18th, 2020, from 4-6 PM, in the McComb Honorary Chapel of Jackson Professional Funeral Services. Funeral service for Mrs. Jackie will be Saturday, December 19th, 2020, at 11AM on the grounds of Jackson Professional Funeral Services; the committal will follow. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, AL, on Thursday, December 24, 2020. In compliance with government recommendations, individuals attending the visitation, and/or, funeral service are required to wear a mask or face covering at all times while inside the facility. Temperature checks are also required upon entering the funeral home.
Jacqueline Denise Canady Smith, (“Moochie”), the youngest of two children, was born January 29th, 1962, to the union of Mr. James Earnest Canady and Mrs. Mary Jane Evans-Canady. A native and resident of Montgomery, AL, Jackie attended the Montgomery Public School System; she was a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School and a proud "Poet." She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Jackson Street Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL.
“Moochie,” as she was affectionately called, loved cooking, entertaining, partying, making people laugh, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. She was truly the life of the party. A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be sorely missed by all who loved her.
Those who remain to cherish Jackie's memories are her four children: Cedric E. Smith, II, KiKi Nytasha Smith, Me’Chell’le Scott, and De’Earnest D. Scott, II; a granddaughter whom she would do anything for: Yonna Ni’Vanitey; one brother: Anthony Canady; several aunts, uncles, godchildren, cousins, other relatives, Sidney Lanier H.S. classmates, her old “click” and her new “click.” She was preceded in death by her parents.
The management and staff of Jackson Professional Funeral Services extend our sincere gratitude to the family for entrusting the final arrangements of their loved one to the dedicated and caring professionals of our establishment.
Please join us in prayer for the the Smith family as they process this experience.
Thank You!
