On Thursday, September 4, 1947, Eli and Franetta Condrey welcomed into the world and into their arms and family a son and wonderful bundle of joy. His name would be called James "Lynell" Condrey. It was important to the couple that their children be brought up in the "nurture and admonition of the Lord," and at an early age, James' Christian upbringing led him to connect with the church family of the St. Louis Missionary Baptist Church in Elamville, AL. James L. was a gregarious man who loved fishing, playing dominos, dancing, working on cars, spending time with his children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
Mr. Condrey was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eli and Franetta Condrey; his daughter, Tiffany March; an infant granddaughter, Shamiracle March; two brothers: Jimmy L. Condrey and James Condrey; two sisters: Dorothy Pearson and Annie Murl (Billy) Morris; and four brothers- in-law: Arthur Robinson, Willie James Dickerson, John Albert Lowe, and C.J. Pearson.
James L. leaves to celebrate his life, continue his legacy, and treasure his memories a loving, devoted daughter, Franetta Condrey of Ozark, AL; four sons: James Condrey, Jr. of Columbus, OH, Stacy Fryer of Clio, AL, Andre (Kamythia) March, Sr. of Ozark, AL, and Marcus March of Texasville, AL; six sisters: Doris Stokes of Clio, AL, Willie Pearl (Rufus) Williams of Doster, AL, Suzie Mell Dickerson of Dothan, AL, Helen Robinson of Clio, AL, Doretha (James) Crews of Ozark, AL, Lola (Bobby) Durham of Eustis, FL; twenty-one grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; one aunt and one uncle: Mary Gamble of Houston TX, and Willie (Teresa) Shipman, Jr. of Ft. Meade, MD; one sister-in-law, Jessie Condrey of Enterprise, AL, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
