With sincere compassion, we respectfully announce the transition of Jaydon Jamel Lewis "JL". A resident of Montgomery, AL, Jaydon transitioned Thursday, May 1st, 2025. He was 18. A Public Visitation will be held Saturday, May 17th, 2025 from 9AM until the Celebration of Life begins at 11AM. This will be held in the Alfredia Smith Jackson Honorary Chapel of Jackson Professional Funeral Services. Committal and Interment will follow in Kindle Memorial Cemetery.
Jaydon Jamel Lewis, affectionately known as "JL" was born to Yolanda Lewis Benson & Earndra Zhivago Hines on October 31st, 2006. From a young age he radiated warmth and kindness, quickly becoming a cherished presence in the lives of those around him. On may 1st, 2025, Jaydon peacefully journeyed home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion.
Jaydon accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age, embracing his faith with a sincerity that inspired many. Throughout his life, he exemplified the values of kindness, humility and resilience. He was educated in the Montgomery Public School System, where he not only excelled academically, but also formed lasting friendships. His infectious laughter and bright spirit made a significant impact on his classmates and teachers alike.
Known for his ability to listen and offer support, Jaydon was a confidant to many. He had an innate gift for making others feel valued and understood, often serving as a guiding light in times of trouble. Whether it was a friend in need or a family member seeking advice, Jaydon was always there, ready to lend a helping hand or a compassionate ear.
Jaydon's love for family was profound. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, creating memories that will be treasured forever. He is preceded in death by his grandmother: Jacqueline Lewis; and two brothers: Ja'Quan Lewis and Zhivago Hines.
Those who remain to cherish his memory are; his devoted mother and stepfather: Yolanda & Tremaine Benson; his father: Earndra Zhivago Hines; five sisters: Zy'kia Lewis, Trinity Benson, Ka'niya Hines, Zhiveah Hines, Miyanna McMillian; two loving brothers: Earndra Hines and Zariah Marks; a grandmother: Leisha Marshall; a loving godmother/cousin: Keshia McDaniel; uncles: Jarqua Lewis, Frank Marks, Ta'Jamaree Hines and Ernesto Hines; an aunt: Wykeisha Hines; a nephew: Zaidon Hines; God-parents who treated Jaydon as their own: Katrina & LC Boswell and Katrina & Bobby Wilson; many close friends whom he considered brothers and sisters: Byeese, Jamarion, Joseph, Omarion, Jayleen, Jadarius, Marco, Kavarski, Cory, Rawkeeb, Jaylin, Jamarcus, Marceldrick, O'khari, Quincy, Jamouri, Karaycia, Roy'Nisha, and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly. Their legacy of love and support will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
Although Jaydon's time with us was far too short, his impact was immense. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched. As we gather to celebrate his life, let us remember the joy he brought into the world, and the love that he shared so freely. In our hearts, he will forever remain a shining star, guiding us with the love and light he embodied.
