With sincere compassion, we respectfully announce the transition of Mr. John F. Kelly, Jr., a native of Lowndes County, AL, and resident of Montgomery, AL. Mr. Kelly transitioned on Wednesday, January 27th, 2021. He was 57. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 2nd, 2021, from 4-7 PM, in the McComb Honorary Chapel of Jackson Professional Funeral Services. Graveside service will take place at St. Paul C.M.E. Church in Gordonville, AL on Thursday, February 3rd, 2021. Service will begin at 12 noon. In compliance with government recommendations, individuals attending the visitation are required to wear a mask or face covering at all times while inside the facility. Temperature checks are also required upon entering the funeral home.
John Furniss Kelly, Jr. (BJ-BabyJohn) was born January 23rd, 1964 to John, Sr. and Bernice Hardy Kelly. He received his eternal wings on January 27th, 2021.
John accepted Christ at an early age and joined the St. Paul C.M.E. Church under the leadership of Reverend John F. Boswell. He was a 1982 graduate of Hayneville High School. Thereafter he continued his education at Trenholm Technical College; receiving a degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. Mr. Kelly was a skilled HVAC specialist, and was employed with the Montgomery Housing Authority. He thoroughly enjoyed his career; and John had dedicated more than 25 years before retiring for health reasons.
John was preceded in death by his parents: John, Sr. and Bernice Kelly; and his siblings: Raymond, Rosa, Reginald, Robert, and Jimmy.
“Baby John,” as he was affectionately called, leaves to forever cherish his memories, and carry on his work; a wife of 24 years, Mrs. Beatrice Singleton Kelly; two children: John F. Kelly III and Jada F. Kelly. He was eagerly awaiting the birth of his first grandchild, (Journee’). Those who will also greatly miss him are, his siblings: Charles, Sarah, Bill (Wilma), Dorris, Earnestine, (Roosevelt), Jerrylene (Larry), James (Pat), Melvin (Geraldine), Herman, Diane, Joyce (Willie), and Gwen; a devoted mother-in-law: Bernice Singleton, and father-in-law: Robert Singleton; his caring sisters-in-law: Tammy (Anthony), Yolanda, Myrtle, and Toinya; brothers-in-law: Robert (Demetrius), Ray (Patricia), and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
