Maritez Anquan Scott

With sincere compassion,  we respectfully announce the transition of Mr. Maritez Scott, a resident of Montgomery, AL. Mr. Scott transitioned on Saturday, February 6th, 2021. He was 39. Public visitation will be held on Monday, February 22nd, 2021, from 4-6 PM, in the McComb Honorary Chapel of Jackson Professional Funeral Services.  Graveside service will take place at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Montgomery, AL on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2021. Service will begin at 11 AM.  In compliance with government recommendations, individuals attending the visitation are required to wear a mask or face covering at all times while inside the facility. Temperature checks are also required upon entering the funeral home.     

Maritez Anquan Scott was born August 21, 1981, to the late Rosetta Scott and the late Linfred Jones, Jr. (Spud). He departed this life, Saturday, February 6, 2021, in Montgomery, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosetta Scott; father, Linfred Jones, Jr.; grandparents, Annie R. Scott and William Scott, Sr.; grandfather, Linfred Jones, Sr.; aunts, Millie Williams and Lizzie Williams, and uncle, William Scott, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory, grandmother, Genieve Jones, Quantico, MD, a loving and devoted son, Maritez Smith, Lake Mary, FL; two young children, son, Tamyron Brown Scott and daughter, Tamasha Nicole Brown Scott, all of Montgomery, AL; one brother,  Cameron Jones and one sister, Loren Jones, both of Atlanta, GA; two aunts, Vernell Calloway, Irondale, AL and Ollie Scott, Aiea HI; uncles, Nathaniel Johnson, Anderson, IN; Oliver Scott, East Point, GA and Larry (Ayanna) Scott, Montgomery, AL; great-uncles, Moses (Gwendolyn) Williams and James Jones, Sr. both of Montgomery, AL; great-aunts, Lois Williams, and Mamie (JD) Johnson both of Montgomery, AL; cousins,  Angela Williams, Reco (Tywanna) Williams, Alexandria (Robert) Brown, Naya Scott, and Miles Scott all of Montgomery, AL; Kelsey Gills, Aiea, HI; and Albert Calloway, Houston, TX; Marketo Williams, Marquez (Daniella) Williams, Deltrick Williams, Mason Williams Alexzander Brown, Robbee Brown, Reygn Brown, Zariya Williams, Zaniya Williams, and Ian Williams all of Montgomery, AL;  very special devoted friend, and mother of Tamasha & Tamyron, Tamasha S. Brown, devoted friend, Creston Walters, and a host of other relatives and friends.
