Obituary

With sincere compassion, we respectfully announce the transition of Ms. Pearline H. Malone. A resident, of Montgomery, AL; Ms. Malone transitioned Sunday, September 3rd, 2023. She was 93. A Public Visitation will be held Friday, September 15th, 2023 from 4-6PM in the Chapel of Jackson Professional Funeral Services. The Home-Going Celebration will be held Saturday, September 16th, 2023 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church In Ramer, AL with Pastor Willie J. Whiting of Resurrection Missionary Baptist Church Officiating. Committal & Interment will follow in the Friendship M.B.C. Cemetery.

A time to be born: Pearline H. Malone was born February 16, 1930, in Sellers, Alabama. She was the youngest daughter of the seven surviving children of the late Frank and Annie Lee Huffman. Pearline received her religious education and all her siblings at Friendship Baptist Church in Ramer, Alabama, where she accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. Pearline received her academic foundation at Moores Chapel AME in Sellers, Alabama. She went on to further her education at Trenholm State Community College. Pearline enjoyed
cooking and learning to prepare meals with her mother. Cooking would later become her career of choice for the next 45 years.

A time to plant: Pearline embraced the art of cooking under the tutelage of her mother. While preparing meals for her siblings, a love for cooking was born. Pearl would be a chef and leader in the food industry for years to come. This love and art of cooking filled bellies and warmed hearts from the family table to fine dining in high-end restaurants.

A time to live: Pearline was gifted with a servant's heart. To love others was a calling she answered by example. Pearline assisted and shared with all who crossed her life's path. She believed in togetherness and in giving her family her all. Pearline was a caregiver of family and friends. She managed the safekeeping of her parents and siblings during bouts of illness. Pearline continuously exhibited love and gentleness to help ease the pain of others. She showed that same consideration and concern to every family member and stood beside them in their hours of need. Pearline began the journey of wife and partner in 1952. Her exuberance for life took her through many challenges and blessings over the next 80 years; she would become the mother of four children. Pearline gave every fiber of womanhood to be Mama. Mama was born to the role of grandmama in the late 70's. Pearline was a Grandmama who loved her grandchildren like a dance when nobody was watching, with total and complete abandonment.

A time to die: On Sunday, September 3, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., Pearline was given new orders. The voice softly whispered I love you to all who knew her, transitioned into the Love of God's infinite mercy. She was preceded in death by her mother (Annie Lee Huffman), her father (Frank Huffman), her sisters (Cora, Lillie Mae, Earline Huffman), her brothers (Charlie, Earnest, Freddie, Martin Huffman), and her grandson (Lee Adams II).

A time to mourn: Like the sun setting, Pearline's season came to a peaceful close, but she leaves so many precious memories. Her life will be cherished forever by her four loving children: Alvina Ann (Hill) Gipson, Alvin (Linda) Rollins, Kemmie (Charlie) Walker, and Maria (Jamie) Walker. Pearline was a dedicated grandmother to 12 grandchildren: Kenyatta (Marquita), Patrick (Anqwanette), Pamieka, Andrea, Siboniso, Markeysha, Devin, Charneika, Kameron, Chardell, Eric and DeKarian. She was the great-grandmother to 21 children: TaKaysha, Kamari, Morgan, Madisyn, Karter, Jaylen R, Christopher L, Datriuna, A'Parris, Le'Andre, Trinity, Isaiah, Kashard, Chardae, Chardell Jr. Genesis, Deonta, Rondarius and Christopher A, Erica, and Uria. A devoted niece and nephew, Deborah Myers and Kenneth Ross (Detroit, Michigan); two loving cousins, Audry Clark and Neil Arrington (Cincinnati, Ohio); a sister-in-law, Isephine Huffman, and four daughters of the heart, Vivian, Sheila, Ann, Arleshia, Brenda, and Tasha. A dear friend, Isabella Riggs. Although many were named here, Pearline leaves warm memories in the hearts of more nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and honorary family.
