With sincere compassion, we respectfully announce the transition of Rev. Neal Wesley Caver PhD. A resident of Montgomery, AL, Mr. Caver transitioned Saturday, April 12th, 2025. He was 72 .Dr. Neal Wesley Caver went home to live with his Lord and Savior April 12, 2025 at the age of 72, following a lengthy battle with multiple medical infirmities. Neal, a minister of the gospel, was born in Prattville, Autauga County, Alabama on December 20, 1952 to the late Earl Wesley Caver and Vaubie Maude Harrell Smitherman.
Reverend Caver is survived by his wife, Martha Ann and sons, Brian A. (Stephanie), Richard; daughters, Kelly Lucky (Eric), Miranda. He is also survived by nine grandchildren. Neal was preceded in death by his son, Reverend Casey Lynn Caver and by his grandson, Robbie W. Green.
Dr. Neal became an ordained minister with the Southern Baptist Convention on May 23, 1993 at First Baptist Church, LaPlace, Louisiana; with a call to ministry as a state missionary and church builder. God called Neal as a Shepard to His sheep. Following his surrender to the ministry, Neal attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Liberty University. At the age of 62 he received his Master of Theology and Doctor of Philosophy at the College of the Open Bible. Prior to being called to the ministry, Neal worked as an industrial electrician for many years.
During college football season Neal could be found watching his “Crimson Tide”. Neal played high school football for Billingsley High School and until an injury, was a candidate to play football for the University of Alabama. Obviously, he wanted to play ball for “Bear”.
Graveside Memorial Services will be held May 17, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Plantersville, Alabama with Rev. Will Jordan officiating. As this is an outdoor service, please come prepared for inclement weather. In lieu of flowers please make a donation of your choice to the Diabetic Association, Heart Association, Kidney Foundation or the Lung Association. Special appreciation to those we cared for him through the years.
