Ms. Rose Bell Owens
With sincere compassion and empathy, we respectfully announce the transition of Ms. Rose Bell Owens.
Rose Bell Owens, a native of Hope Hull, Alabama, and resident of Montgomery, AL, peacefully transitioned on Thursday, December 10th, 2020. Public visitation will be held on Friday, December 18th, 2020, from 4-6 PM in the visitation parlor of Jackson Professional Funeral Services. Home-going services for Mrs. Rose will be Saturday, December 19th, 2020, at 2PM in the McComb Honorary Chapel of Jackson Professional Funeral Services. The committal and burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Ada, AL. In compliance with government recommendations, individuals attending the visitation, and/or, funeral service are required to wear a mask or face covering at all times while inside the facility. Temperature checks are also required upon entering the funeral home.
Mrs. Rose Bell Jones Owens (aka “Mutt”) was born to the late Mr. William Jones and Ms. Della P. J. Robinson. She was one of eight siblings. At an early age, Rose accepted Christ and joined the Bezzela Springs Baptist Church in Hope Hull, AL. Later, she became a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL. where she served until her health failed. After meeting the love of her life, Mr. Howard Lee Owens (aka “Tinny”), the two were married, and their union was blessed with two children.
Mrs. Owens leaves to cherish her memories one daughter: Mrs. Rosa B. Williams of Montgomery, AL; four sisters: Mrs. Sarah Francise Walker, Mrs. Gertrude Bibb, Mrs. Annie Ruth Chaney, all of Montgomery, AL, and Mrs. Earnestine Vickers, of Hope Hull, AL, along with a sister-in-law, Ms. Georgia Lee Jones, also of Hope Hull; seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Rose is preceded in death by her husband, Howard, daughter, Mrs. Sallie M. Washington, sister, Mrs. Annie B. Davis, and two brothers, Will and Frank Jones.
The management and staff of Jackson Professional Funeral Services extend our sincere gratitude to the family for entrusting the final arrangements of their loved one to the dedicated and caring professionals of our establishment.
