With sincere compassion, we respectfully announce the transition of Mr. Starkey King, Jr., a native, and resident of Montgomery, AL. Mr. King transitioned on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022. He was 66. A Public Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Jackson Professional Funeral Services on Friday, April 1st, 2022, from 4-6PM; and again on Saturday, April 2nd, 2022 from 11am until the Homegoing Celebration begins at 12NOON in the McComb Honorary Chapel of J.P.F.S. Pastor Willie Smith is the officiant. At this time, J.P.F.S. public health & safety standards do not require the use of masks to attend Public Visitations or Funeral Services; however, It is strongly suggested that all individuals who have not been vaccinated wear a mask. Committal and Interment will follow at Kindle Baptist Church Memorial Cemetery.
Starkey King, Jr. was born April 24th, 1955 to Mr. Starkey King, Sr. and Ms. Fannie Mae Bean. Starkey “King” was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.
During his industrial life, he worked faithfully as a laborer for Thorton Construction Company. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing and shooting pool. King loved the outdoors.
On Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022 he was called to eternal rest. He departed this life leaving fond memories with his wife: Mrs. Flora King; son: Mr. Starkey Jermaine (Tiffany) King; a brother: Mr. Willie King of Birmingham, AL; four sisters: Ms. Martha Dillard, Diane Ballard, Ms. Mary Reese all of Montgomery, AL , and Mrs. Dorothy (Edward) Peagler of Birmingham, AL. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Starkey is preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Albert & Johnny King.
