With sincere compassion, we respectfully announce the transition of Ms. Victoria P. Anaya. A native of New Mexico, and resident of Montgomery, AL, Victoria Patricia Anaya, age 69, passed away peacefully at her home in Montgomery, Alabama, on June 27, 2025, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease and Dementia.
A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Victoria lived a life full of love, faith, and compassion. Her memorial service will be held on August 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at New Covenant Worship Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
Born on June 7, 1956, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Victoria was the cherished daughter of Daniel and Bernadita Anaya. She grew up surrounded by faith and family, passions that shaped her life. A proud graduate of Albuquerque High School, Victoria was known for her school spirit as a Varsity Cheerleader and her musical talent on the flute. Victoria went on to earn an undergraduate degree in Law before later pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Therapy from Webster University.
Her professional life was as dynamic as it was compassionate—working as a personal chef, and later, helping others through her work in therapy. Her sweet spirit and joyful heart led her to become Smiles the Clown, volunteering her t ime to bring laughter and delight to children with face painting and balloon art.
A devoted mother to her three children, Amiee, Camille, and Victor, Victoria’s love for her family was unwavering. She especially cherished her role as a grandmother, actively participating in her grandchildren’s lives and creating memories filled with warmth, fun, and love. Victoria’s journey in life was marked by strength through hardship.
She faced and overcame breast cancer with the support of her loving extended family, but endured the tragic loss of her beloved son, Victor Walker, which deeply impacted her. In her final years, Victoria gracefully battled Parkinson’s before being called home to the Lord. She was preceded in death by her son Victor Walker, grandson Noah, nephew Nico, and several dear relatives including Aunt Erlinda Alvarez, Aunt Beatrice Anaya, Uncle Laco, Elaine Alvarez, Mary Jane Sweet, Uncle Benny, Aunt Emily, and Lucas Alvarez.
Victoria is survived by her loving daughters: Amiee Walker (DeLando) and Camille Walker; siblings: Judy Anaya Griffin, Nick Sisneros (Julie), Elaine Smiel (Michael), and Lorraine Cohn; grandchildren: Samara Sufyan (Kyle), Dominic Wright, Saladin Sufyan, Myila Walker, Victor, and Shiloh. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews: Daniel Griffin (Megan, daughter Sonja), Amber Baca (daughter Mariah), Jeanette, Girard, Jeremy, Patrick, Emily, Mary, and Jason.
