With sincere compassion, we respectfully announce the transition of Mr. Willie James Smiley. A native, and resident of Montgomery, AL, Mr. Smiley transitioned Thursday, June 29th, 2023. He was 86. A Public Visitation will be held Friday, July 7th, 2023 between the hours of 4PM and 6PM at Jackson Professional Funeral Services. The Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 8th, 2023 at 11AM in the chapel of Jackson Professional Funeral Services. Pastor William Patterson is the Officiant. Committal & Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Willie James Smiley was born in Montgomery, AL on March 6th, 1937. He received his education from Trinity Lutheran Church. After successfully completing trade school, he earned a position with Maxwell Air Force Base as a Meat Cutter. Willie was proud of his career and served there faithfully for many years before retiring. Some of the things that he enjoyed were fishing, reading, cooking and working. Although he was a quiet man, he thoroughly enjoyed family gatherings. Mr. Smiley peacefully transitioned Thursday, June 29th, 2023. Those who preceded him in death are his wife: Mrs. Ollie Mae Parks; a son: Arnie Lynn Parks; and six brothers: John Henry, Fred, Richard, Charles, Eugene & Charles.
Willie will forever be remembered by his loving family; to include a devoted daughter: Brenda (Ronnie) Johnson; two sons: Ronnie & Michael Parks; three granddaughters: Brandlyn (Napoleon) Turner, Rhonda Parks, and Brandie (Devin) Vickers; one brother: Roosevelt Lewis; four sisters: Betty Taylor, Louise Whiting, Carrie (Leon) Burke & Michelle Lewis; a sister-in-law: Willie M. Lewis; seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
